Hi,
bad thing is, I already did this back when alsa 0.5.x was stable. They told me
plain blunt and simple that linux is not supported. I also sent my complain
to the crystal guys. They pointed me to their driver which works just a
little better dep

Hi all!
As I can see on SuSE 8.1 you compile ALSA drivers within the kernel itself.
I was wondering how I can compile 0.9rc5 drivers updating the 2.4.19 kernel
source. Also I'd like to know how can I patch a standard (or Debian) kernel
source to compile ALSA drivers directly in it.
thanks a lot

Hi,
one last mail for now...
In case my problem with the Terratec DMX XFire 1024 can't be solved I'll
probably have to replace it with something better supported.
Which cards are recommended? The Alsa Project driver matrix doesn't help much
here
Hello,
I have tried to install alsa (rpm and source build) and this is my error:

I have one addition.
Sometimes (yes really sometimes, it's not consistent) unloading the alsa
modules and reloading them again helps.
So it might be some initialization issue. Is there a way to tune this, if it
realy has to do with initialization?

Hi ListMembers,
although I just stated that analogue in on my CMI8738-MC6 based soundcard
Z-cyber Nightingale Pro 6
works rather well, it's very quiet.
On my old computer I used a Soundblaster AWE32 and I havn't changed anything
on
the wiring setup
Hi ListMembers,
now I'm completely lost. I've read a couple of months worth list messages but
I'm none the wiser.
I recently bought a Z-cyber Nightingale Pro 6 (6 Channels 5.1 PCI Sound card
with Optical Kit). Z-cyber, as far as I know, is nothing more than Zoltrix'
European brand.
So far I've r

Hi,
I have some problems with the card mentioned in the subject. I searched the
documentation and older mailinglist articles but didn't find any information
regarding my problem.
The problem is massively distorted sound. I get the driver loaded and
This MB has a "C-Media PCI CMI8738-MC6 (model 55) at 0xc800, irq 10"
built in. I have yet to get it working fully. Like I don't have Mic in
or an OSS mixer. I've read the ALSA docs for this chip, loaded all the
modules, played with alsactl and alsamixer, all with no luck.
A friend has the same
