i just downloaded the new version of alsa. sound from line is ok, i lost sound from

Hi, if someone could give me a hand on this, it'd
be great!
I'm running Gentoo linux, the kernel is 2.4.19rc2

Are you sure my onboard audio doesn't have a second channel?
I'm almost certain I had disabled the virtual mixer. Also the volume
slider appeared on the same device as the Via686, the virtual mixer
normally has its own mixer device.
Also they seem to be talking about it here:

i'm a newbie, but i think i got this error once when

2. i compiled a new alsa driver and then modprobe'd the new driver without removing
the modules...

Hello,
Just wondering if anyone has this combination of hardware working with Linux
sound.
It seems to work with RH 6.2 (also works with BeOS !?)
However RH7.3 and RH8.0 do not work after the installation.
I have compiled the latest (?) alsa-xxx-0.9.0rc8b (for xxx = driver, utils,

I've got a module-specific question. I'm new to the list, and am working on
possibly moving off Win32 altogether to KDE3 on SuSE 8... sound seems to be
my only bug at the moment.
Here's the problem:
The system boots just fine, no error or failure messages. I've checked the

Hi!
I'm new to the list (and a new alsa user too). I've decided to use alsa
because the default driver (trident) for my sigmatel STAC9766/67 audio card
doesn't work fine: The volume is fixed and it is very low, even though
changing the mixer values.
I had lots of problems to use snd-ali5451

Hi,
My Delta44 keeps getting locked at 48000Hz. I know that under windows,
I can lock the rate down and free it up, but I'm having trouble doing
that with ALSA for some reason:
envy24control doesn't seem to have a control for this. BTW, what
is that "Volume Rate" control?
alsamixer shows a slide

Here are my problems:
-OSS emulation is pretty much broken. This is my biggest problem since a
lot of app (esound, the kde rpms I am using, realplayer, etc) use oss.

Here are two mp3s that are record from MIC with driver rc2.

Does the file /dev/snd/seq exist? Is the snd-seq module loaded? If not:
does it work after "modprobe snd-seq"?

Fixed since rc8c. Try a newer release or CVS.
