I was trying to unmute my sound card, and I am getting this error:
amixer: Mixer attach default error: No such file or directory
Does anyone know what this means?
also, thanks for the previous help. It hasn't been easy getting even this
far.

Modprobe stalls on isapnp.o
with unresolved symbols such as
proc_root_
remove_proc_entry
proc_bus
create_proc_entry
isapnp /etc/isapnp.conf works and detects the soundcard however the alsa
pnp is stalling is it to do with my kernel?

I know that's a workaround, b
Hi Sylvian
As I said earlier my Sound controller is es1979. But I removed all
the alsa modules (0.95) and did a fresh kernel compilation with Sound
support and ESS Maestro 2/2E support as Modules.
Then I installed everything and copied the same stuff as you have given
to me to the /etc/modules.

FYI I'm with SuSE
I have the same problem here. My system freezes every once in a while. I'm
using ALSA 0.9.5 and my card is a TB Santa Cruz (CS-4630). I've tried ALSA
versions 0.9.2-0.9.5 with no luck. I built the driver with no OSS support to
see if that was the problem. Then I used the ALSA plugin in XMMS but
Thanks, for yet another patch which was applied with the previous one. So,
another day, another tomorrow.
This time bunch of error(s):
gcc -D__KERNEL__ -DMODULE=1
-I/usr/src/source/alsa/alsa-driver-0.9.5/include
-I/lib/modules/2.4.21-ck3.1.smp/build/include -O2

I have noticed this being mentioned on the list before
but still there is no readily available solution.
The situation is as follows:
I have a sb128pci with the ES1370 chip on it.
TeamSpeak 2 requires a full duplex channel to operate
(mic recording and a playback channel). Enemy
Territory, for so
I'm have a VIA8235 chipset and are using the snd-via82xx drivers. I'm
attempting to use ices and my Line-In port for broadcasting, and use the
computer as a desktop also. Am I able to broadcast the feed on the Line-In
port and able to say listen to music also??? with conflictions, or
cross-nois

Description: Binary data
I've recently done some updates on my Debian Sid system with handbuilt kernel.
ALSA drivers 0.9.0rc6->0.9.5, kernel 2.4.20->2.4.21, and libasound now
updated to 0.9.4-2.
K7S5A onboard audio had been working fine with driver 0.9.0rc6, though one of
the k ernel modules did seggy when unloading.
Now
