I'm still getting this error when running alsamixer:
alsamixer: function snd_mixer_load failed: Invalid argument
After some debugging, it appears as though a bunch of mixer settings get
loaded until the one named "Digital In Playback Source". After stepping
through that, I reached a call to io
I am running alsa on a via 686 chipset and I have a question.
Using alsa mixer I can only toggle the capture source to be either line,
cd or mic. How can I mix two or more together? Say cd and mic?

it is seeing the card:

Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
when I try to record, I get:

Okay, I'll give it a try and let you know how it goes. It will be my first
time compiling the kernel so I'll see how that goes as well.

yes
I haven't tried yet, but wanted to now if that might be an avenue to
explore,
and if you had heard anything about problems with alsa on it ;-)

Hey guys
A recent upgrade to ALSA has meant that anytime there's a high load on
my system OSS emulation locks up, so I thought it was about time I tried
to use native ALSA again with my Extigy.
Problem is that it doesn't work, doesn't seem to want to make a sound.
My system is:
Linux 2.4.18
ALSA

Hello world,
Using Alsa for a while with lots of boards and systems without the need of any help,
but this time ... I was unable to config a working external midi with ALSA
0.9.0...ALSA 0.9.4
The boards are working fine in all pcm, synth, and external midi(s) are well detected,
ie they are

Currently not, but the DA-2496 is based on the ICE1712 chip, so it
would be relatively easy to add support for this card to the
snd-ice1712 driver.
The features of the DA-2496 are rather identical to the M-Au

Hi,
there are 2 sound cards in my computer:
- Ensoniq 5880 AudioPCI
- VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8233 AC97 Audio Controller
(lspci)
with the drivers es1371 and via82xx.
With my VIA card I have 4 input channels on /dev/dsp (which means that
it can be used by 4 OSS sound applications simultaneousl

ALSA has an OSS emulation, so you can still use your old apps.

Hi,
After having read this thread I've 3 questions :
1/ Finally does this soun card work under Linux ?
2/ Does the SPDIF output work ?
3/ Does someone have compared the quality output of this card to a SBlive ?
thx for your answers,

modinfo soundcore returns soundcore.o
lsmod indicates that so
