Hello,
I'm trying to get multi channel on my ldell lattitude laptop to work.
I used to have a dell inspiron, and that laptop had multi channel audio
inbuilt, and that was years ago.
The fairly new lattitude seems to only have one stereo playback channel!
Is this true or am I forgetting somethin

Hi,
does anybody know any command line utility that would strip the additional
bits from recordings? My software configuration doesn't support 24 bit
recording (or is this a common ALSA problem?), but my sound hardware does
and I would like to acquire all the bits. The only way to do this is th

HI
I use mdk 9.1 with alsa 0.9.0rc8.
I configurated my sound card to use the via82xx driver
and included in my /etc/modules.conf file the option
dxs_support=3.
It seems that there are a lot of problems if the
sampling rate is different from 48kHz (the oss driver
works fine at any sampling rate),
Hi guys,
I installed alsa on a RPM based distribution ( MDK 9.1 )
It's a laptop computer with a SiS 7012 soundcard.
I launched XMMS, and tried to play some music, it looks like it plays well (
xmms having no errors ), but I dont hear anything.
any help?
Thanks

As illustrated below, it appears as though the 32 bit format is not
supported by the VXpocket. Any possible work-arounds ?

hello,
i've read the archives - there's a lot on this chip, and googled extensively,
but after a week and a half i still can't get anything but a click at
start-up out of this chip! finally got the options down (no more messages in
syslog). running alsa 0.9.6 and slack 9.1. hope i've sent all t
Since v. 0.9.8, nearly all playback is running at double speed/pitch;
- wav (alsaplayer, aplay, xmms)
- mp3 (alsaplayer, xmms)
- mid (TiMidity).
I never have observed this before with any version of alsa.
My configure options haven't changed for a long time:
$ ./configure --with-cards=ice1712,virmi

I may be wrong and you should check the details page on your card in
the alsa soundcard matrix, but I think there is no seq device on the
Hammerfall lite. I seem to remember setting one up at one time and
just not enabling the seq in modules.conf.
In other words, no:

Hello
Many thanks to Frank Barknecht for his dmix/ossmix post. After several
months I've finally managed to get dmix to work on my ISA AWE64 card.
You've done a fantastic work.
My CMI8738-MC6 cmipci card on the other computer is still yet to reconfigure
in the same way, but I'm more than confi

Hi,
If you have ALC650 rev.1 alias ALC650 rev D, try to use alsa-driver
