I've managed to now get analog signal (I think) coming out my optical port. My receiver shows the # of channels it has detected. When I kaffeine dvd:/ I get two channels even after ensuring through the DVD menus that 5.1 is enabled. aplay file.mp3 plays fine, however aplay test.ac3 plays static
