Hello -
I am having some sound quality problems. Any
ideas of things to try would really be appreciated. I have links to some
audio file samples below for the good and bad cases I have
recreated.

No problems, give me sometime to test it and see how it goes and I will
assist you.
What is your distribution?

Hi.
I've got a strange problem:
On my computer, WHEN the sound is working, it's a little bit slow (you
can see that it gets asynchronized with videos after some time: it's
slower than the video).
And, sometimes, when I open applications like AMSN it just stops
working, or just one application repr

This may sound like a dumb question, but I'm having the exact same
problem mentioned below, but I'm a relatively new user and I don't
know how to apply a patch like the one listed here. If someone could
tell me how to go about it, I'd really appreciate it.

No change at all. The ac3 stream still has so many drop-out it's quasi
mute.
Here's the command (with output) that I used:
$ ac3dec -C en.ac3

The audio group isn't used on FC5. When a user logs in, the
instructions in /etc/security/console.perms.d/50-default.perms arrange
for the files in /dev/snd (among others) to have their ownership
changed. If, as a normal user, you do "ls -l /dev/snd" and you see all
the files owned by someo
Do you people could translate this what I found in the alsa-driver
description for Digi9652:
*_Known bugs_*
- 96kHz and 88.2kHz not accessible via PCM interface
What does that mean ?

Sorry I was just commenting on someone else's email. I posted my
problems here a couple of days ago, but I didn't see much activity since
so I didn't pursue it.
Below is my last post with some information that I collected

The current ALSA driver (1.0.12) supports all devices supported by
Yamaha's current driver (2.1.

Hi,
Yes, you are absolutely right, but I have found out strange things about
distros... I am also owning a M-Audio Delta 1010, that has worked with an
older debian installation and stopped working with the current ubuntu /alsa
versions And the configs were the same I also found some forum

I don't see any distro specific problems if your sou
Hi,
Good to hear, I will install Suse - do you think the latest version will
also work, or should I stick with 9.x - on the box and will try these
configs. I'll let you know whether it is working or not. If it's working
I'll create a how-to and publish that.
Thanks and Cheers,

Hi Dominik,
Don't want to disappoint you, but I am currently using ubuntu 6.0.6.
I assume that using an RME soundcard with linux is quit seldom, so that
there are not that much samples or content concerning the configuration of
the soundcard. I would be fine if whoever has a working combinati
Hello list,
I am new here, so first of all a big thanks to all the wonderful
developers of ALSA. You guys are awesome!
I am buying a DGX-620 Yamaha digital piano, and I don't find this model
in usbquirks.h
This could be because:
a) it is a new product and it is just not added yet
b) it is ful
