I have bought Acer Aspire 6920 laptop that comes with the ALC889
Analog chipset [from aplay -l] (Intel 8280H ICH8 Family [from lspci]).
Now im using ubuntu 8.10 with newest alsa(18a) and sound works but...
The problem is that sound volume is quite low and tuba bass speaker

I've just compiled linux 2.6.28, and wanted to install the latest 1.0.18a
alsa drivers, but I get unresolved symbols when I want to modprobe snd:

I am trying to make flite work on my HP Ipaq H2210 which is running
Angstrom Linux.
It may be an Alsa issue, I don't know. I posted this about two weeks ago
but got no response. Should I try another alsa list?

Maybe off-topic for ALSA, but
X.org 7.4 lists:
xf86-video-ati 6.9.x: Support for r5xx/r6xx/r7xx (RadeonHD
1xxx/2xxx/3xxx) devices added, including textured video for r5xx. Full
RandR 1.2 support for all chipsets.
Are the sound capabilities of the Radeon HD cards supported by ALSA?
