but some systems require a mixer channel to be unmuted as well.
Would you mind sending me the output of your
/proc/asound/card0/codec#*, so that I can try to map that onto the init
parts of patch_analog.c and then deduce what I should do to patch_via.c
with
kr drives the underlying ALSA sound to produce
the beep in order to find the correct place for a patch.

the UA-25 there is no offending hum even when recording on AC. I will
have to do a proper test with live music, but based on the missing hum
and based on what I read on the net so far, I think the decision to go
for the UA-25 was not the worst one.
