Will 1.0.3 or at least some important fixes go into 2.6.4?

How frequently will the drivers in the kernel be sync'ed with the current alsa
stable release? Is there a patch available for patching 2.6.1 to alsa 1.0.2?

There is none. I attached the available controls at the bottom of this mail.

I recently bought a centrino notebook with a onboard intel sound-chip (details
see below this message). A few questions:
Is it possible to have the pc speaker enabled? As soon as the driver is
loaded, the pc speaker becomes silent since it also runs over the internal
sound hardware as it seems.
No, it doesn't have anything to do with 3d sound.
It's just that one channel is just at a very very very low volume when playing
normal (stereo) things. The only way to get something on the left channel is
with "monoishing" the sound using the "3d depth" slider.
BTW: If I switch PCM out to "post
I have a Terratec DMX XFire1024 (snd-cs46xx, using 1.0.0pre2) and the left
channel is practically muted or at least at a very very low volume (problem
already existed in some 0.9x-versions).
If I use the 3d depth slider, I can use the left channel but the overall
output is practically mono (sinc

Uh, yes. And how would my asoundrc look then?
I want to use Audacity via aoss.
Thanks

Doesn't work for me :-(

Wouldn't be an issue anyway since the card is only stereo.
multi-playback be supported by the driver or
isn't it supported by the card in hardware?

high latency. I've read that the card does
hardware mixing internally with 36bit precision so it would be really nice if
the driver would support it. Are there any plans to support it in near
future? Do you need more technical details (maybe I could ask Terratec for
the specs)?

(multiple streams played at once)? The card seems to support
it.
Any sound distortions, crackling or other problems?
Thanks in advance

Yes, but that doesn't seem to be the problem. The error message would be
different then.
I have the same problem. The code seems to be broken. The card doesn't
initialize, even with corre
I have a TerraTec DMX XFire1024 too and no problems (except the sound
distortions with PCM volume >75%, but that's not related to this).
I use the 0.9.2 ALSA drivers, XFree86 4.2.1 and a self-compiled Kernel 2.4.20.
