hi all,
i have a machine with two pci devices of the same type. how can i ensure
persistent device indices?
the wiki [1] mentions a way for a way using vid/pid, but for pci devices it
suggests to write a udev rule. [2] has an example, but it only describes how to
set up the device names in
hi all,
i have some trouble, setting up the route plugin. in my case, i need to
apply different gains to the channels of a sound card.
i am using this asoundrc:
ctl.lxgained {
type hw
card 1
}
pcm.lxgained {
type route
slave {
pcm hw:1,0
}
hi all,
trying to combine two devices via an asoundrc file to one virtual audio
interface, i run into an issue, basically getting a huge number of xruns.
the devices are:
digigram lx6464es, period sizes 32 to 512, 2 to 5 periods, interleaved
samples, 64 channels (1x ethersound)
rme 9652, period
hi all,
i have an odd problem, trying to use my hdsp with kernel 2.6.24-rc8-rt1.
the kernel module loads fine, i can start jack and set the mixer settings
with the hdsp-mixer app.

hi all,
i came across the site on the alsa wiki about accessing multiple sound
cards via an .asoundrc file ...
for an installation, i need to set up a computer with as many output
channels as possible. the sound quality won't need to be that good, as
the speakers aren't, latency doesn't
1. Downloaded the latest ALSA sources, libs and utils (1.0.4)
2. Followed the instructions for the HDSP card off the alsa site,
configuring and installing as necessary
3. Created the corresponding /etc/rc.modules and .asoundrc files (the
latter for my user)
4. Loaded the modules
5.
Can anyone reassure me about the HDSP PCI + Multiface with ALSA? I
would be getting a new one, and it would be helpful if someone with a
recent rev of this hardware could say that it's basically
trouble-free. I'm not bothered by patching my kernel, compiling ALSA
from CVS, etc. I'm just

hi all,
sorry for cross-posting to multiple lists, but is there anyone, who has
a hdsp working on a fsc amilo D (preferable 1840W)?
thanks a lot ...

Paul Davis experienced this recently with his cardbus/digiface,

him. Give that a try...

i just tried to install kernel 2.6.1_rc2 on my machine ...
these are the outputs of these files on this kernel:

Could you please give more details, namely :
I have found that most of the time this is caused by 2 things:
1) Booting too quickly. If I give larger time outs during grub then
I'm less likely to get this. None the less, this morning I rebooted 4
times and continued to get the problem. For me I had to up my grub
timeouts to 30
i tried to track down the error ... i've got the dmesg output when
starting pcmcia on a working system:

hi all,
i got my hammerfall dsp multiface with pcmcia interface today, spent the
