now that I am running ALSA with a

That's pretty much what I have resigned myself to. I have
been working with my Delta44 for over a year now, trying
to get clean operation. I've used all the tricks with
kernels, and O$$ and ALSA drivers. I've tried windows 95,
98
I had a problem playing 24-bit files created in Windows.
They are usually (and correctly) 3byte sample files.
Ecasound can now play those if you get the latest CVS version.

Hi,
I put RedHat7.2 on a new Athlon XP box.
I have a Delta 44 (ice1712) and a Sblive (emu10k1).
I compiled the 0.9.0beta9 stuff, and that went clean, but
now I'm having trouble with the mixers.
When I run amixer, I get:
amixer: Mixer attach default error: No such file or directory
Try
, or could be a configuration
option to limit the number of monitor section channels displayed.
With that, I could enjoy a small window, with just 4, or 8
channels.

When I was faced with the problem of getting a clean
gain stage for microphones, I looked at mic preamps,
but found that two channels of good pre would cost
about $300. Right at that time, Mackie came out
with their VLZPro mic preamps in a couple of lower end
mixers for almost the same price. I
