Hi: I am trying to install the alsa driver for my audio card ALS4000 (Avance LoginInc). I have the following questions: 1. The installation txt asks to turn on the sound suppport (soundcore module). How do I do that? 2. When I do the 'make install' I get the following compile errors: make inst

Hi Eric: Your response was valuable. I was able to successfully install the driver and listen to my favorite mp3 files;-). Thanks. I just have one problem still. I am unable adjust the volume correctly. I used the aumix (looks primitive!!) and am able to hear very feebly. I was wondering if ther

Your modules.conf looks ok to me... I'm really not sure what else to tell you. The only thing that comes to mind is to try backing the volume down from the maximum and see if it changes anything. You've probably already tried that. Does anyone else have any ideas? my meager alsa knowledge goes n

One other thing... There were some reports a while ago of people with many channeled cards whose sound level would be divided by the number of channels they had until they fixed a certain configuration. (asoundrc ?) I know that's a really sketchy description and I'm not sure it would even apply
