Most likely /dev/nst0, you should use that one in the configuration

It's right there. /dev/st0 is the rewinding tape device. You need to
point amanda at /dev/nst0.

I was able to run amdump and it appears that everything ran and backed up
correctly, based on the logs and the Amanda report. Now I am trying to test
and see if I can recover some files.
When I run amrecover it is not connecting:
admin2 is the client, admin1 is the server
I have good expierences with DLT 4000 and 8000, both under Linux (you
should use stinit from the mt-st package for tape drive initialization).
With the DLT 8000 I get over 5MB/s (without hardware compression).

I read you post on yahoo. I use amanda with an DLT 8000. This drive has
an LVD interface and is quite fast. The optimal block size for this tape
is 64k. So after some experiments I changed the default tape block size
in amanda.h from 32k to 64k. This speeds things up a lot. I n
