You may remember the book Unix Backup & Recovery from a
few years ago, and the Amanda chapter we had in it.
The chapter has been completely rewritten for the new
edition, and I need two tech reviewers who can review it for me. I’m
looking for people that know A

entire time I'm backing up.
A powered off machine does have a state. RAM is empty and the drives
are static. They could snapshot that.

(i.e. it crashed). Again, they will work 99.9% of the
time, but don't expect your application to be happy. It SHOULD recover
from a crash, like they're supposed to do, but...
