I have just configured amanda, and I have modified the amanda.conf file to
use my Seagate Hornet 8 model number STT8000N.
When I run the amlabel utility (% amlabel Daily Daily123), I get this error:

i guess you are using linux as os, so you'll have to use /dev/nst0 with amanda.
amanda expects a device which does not automaticaly rewind the tape
after an access, that is the meaning of the term "non-rewinding".
