I have noticed last few weeks a growing number of tickers that don't download
in yahoo current and need to be downloaded in yahoo historic. For example, out
of 645 ETFs, 150 or so will not download in yahoo current after the market has
been open one hour this morning. Some of these are low volum
x27;t backfill in between.

For those never having changed userid's, I'd caution to ensure that present
userid, default, is saved prior to adding a new one. If not saved prior to
making a new one it can be PIA, trying to find stuff.

I can't figure out what I did but all the long names in my list of tickers has
changed to what looks like defaults from Yahoo. This DB is local and imports
yahoo EOD data with AQ. Last update performed before noticing the problem was
yahoo current. Then computer shut down overnight and this AM,
Like to replace the long names of tickers I have stored locally with names from
back up data base. I can delete tickers and replace with tickers from backup.
But seems like hard way. How would I overright existing long names with backup
names.

Lesson learned. Importing data from yahoo historic using AQ can leave data
gaps...if the wrong yahoo server is used. The servers are found in
AQ/Tools/Settings. The default setting is ichart.yahoo.com(default). And this

I have been using TJs suggestion to preclude large volume indexes from being
cut off or at least looking that way. But the results for some composites as
well as thinly traded stocks is less than satisfying. I notice in the help
files that format factors can be imbedded in data files but I'm no
FWIW, I have a yahoo email address. Their spam filter collects suspects but
since I use Outlook express everything comes through to my computer, unless I
first open yahoo email web site and delete collected spam. And I have had
problems with hard bounces as well...perhaps 3-4 times.

I'm using EOD data only in AA/Explore. Something I just noticed( probably been
around forever and I'm little slow). As I scroll though the ticker list, the
chart reverts to day from either week or month. I cannot scroll through the
list looking at say monthly data without continually switching
You might try Howard Bandy's Book, Quantitative Trading Systems. He covers this
as well as many other subjects. And it includes AFL examples as well.
