er, if some program that I have
installed, or some MS update, or something else that would apply to
others than myself is implicated, then that would be relevant to readers
who might be in the same situation. In that case I'll follow up here.

I wonder if there is any chance that the presence of SnagIt could be
interfering with ExportImage?
(I have SnagIt on all the machines ...)

If any clueful person has had themselves a good laugh at some "obvious"
thing I'm overlooking, please kindly drop off one of those clues here
when the laughter has passed ! :-)

When AB is open, it doesn't matter what layout/chart is up. Still no joy.
What could be (not) happening here???

//ImageTest_01.js
AB = new ActiveXObject("Broker.Application");
AB.ActiveWindow.ExportImage( "test.gif", 640, 480 );

Of course, the program does what it does, and it is up to us to
understand it ...
I do not understand why I am seeing what I'm seeing.How is one
supposed to think about th
the compressed array
(cMyHigh, in this case) that when into it, and is {EMPTY} before that?

With the way AB works, the implications of ChartIDs being the same or
different can be profound.
Once one acquires some insight into the ChartID concept, the desire to
be able to do copies of panes/layouts/templates and have control over
whether the copies have the same or new ChartIDs comes to
. :-(
2. I've done that. It can be done. Keep at it. Good luck! :-P
3. I've done that, here's how ... :-)
4. Are you blind? Exactly how to do it (with a working example!) is right
here in the docs:< link> :-[
Load, display, dismiss - that should be all I need ..

It is recommended to run this file in a command window, like so:

I write all my code this way, except for the simplest of experiments.

Yes, agreed. My earlier description was a poor one.
I find the column approach appealing as an idea, but making it robust
seems like it will require more effort than I've yet expended! :-)
