Jim thanks for the link to the AM video from 20 years
ago. I am watching it now. Opening sequence is cool
with all the senior Collins models, but what's the
first actual rig we see? An FT-757, and who's he
talking to? A guy talking about junior Collins
tabletop models that don't do AM !!! ARRGH.
Alright, the verdict is IN -- the AM Video is way cool
!
Get it while you can, highly recommended.

Hello
I am looking for a restoration project. Something between a Valiant and a
KW-1 (quite a range, huh?). I want to do a down to bare chassis strip and
rebuild. The ideal candidate would be a Globe King 500 or Johnson 500 but I
would be interested in other suggestions. Do you have a rusted
Anybody out there willing to part with a Ranger II? Must be in really nice

I still have my VHS copy from 20 years ago, too. I most recently watched it
with a friend (W1UJR) a couple of years ago.

You missed the point, entirely. WHY go -there- in the first place,

Do you just assume that everyone has a bone to pick with you, so you

Larry,
Maybe your tape has is a better reproduction than the one I have of the
SPAM video. VHS as I recall is 640 X 480 whereas what I posted was 320 X 240
resolution. If you got a decent copy, maybe somebody can convert that to a
VCD or DVD for those that want better quality video?
Anybody
Jim,
Not quite. All NTSC encoded video is essentially 320 x 240 and VHS
with its AM color under system makes it even worse because of color
artifacts in the luminance. 640 x 480 which is a SMPTE and ITU
standard is only possible with RGB component systems where no
NTSC encoding has taken
I have a 1948 two-story Globe Champion that is too big for to move around.
Runs an 812 in the final, with four 6L6 modulators.
Uses four plug-in coils for each band. Covers 160M with plug-in padder cap,
which is included.
Won't need much in restoration, but a good clean-up would be in
Don, are you using Windows Media Player, or WinAmp? If
Winamp won't play the avi, try opening the file with
Windows Media Player and see if that works. Or
vice-versa.
