Hi All,
I just purchased the Kill-A-Watt meter from an Ebay seller. These
are neat because they plug into a 120v outlet, and you plug whatever you
want into this gadget. It will display:
Volts
Amps
Watts
VA
Power Factor
Frequency
Time
KWH
I paid less than $20.00 for mine..
This device
Thanks for the tip. I didn't know something like this existed. Looks really
slick.
There may be better deals, but I found it at supermediastore.com for $19.99
with free shipping.

KB7NRN has a rack-mounted transmitter listed on QTH.com with a pair of 813's
modulated by a pair of 811's. Ad #608165. He wants $500. for it.Usual
disclaimers apply.

I looked at this unit when it was for sale for $200 a couple months ago and
chose not to buy it. It hasn't been fired up in years! It may be ok but I
certainly would insist that it be checked before buying at that price!

I would, too. I guess some of his buddies told him it was worth more. I look
to see it on epay soon. At least if someone wanted a challenge, this would
be one. But not for $500. $200. maybe, but only after it cooked for
awhile.

I totally agree. Even in ruff shape its worth the money. I have a home brew
pr of 813's with modulator and power supply, I wouldn't take any less than
500 bucks just for the supply.

If I knew where the transmitter came from and if it had been kept in the dry,
that would be OK. I know too well about the vultures in ham radio. I have
helped sell some estate sales, and I always ask the executors of the estate
what THEY want for the equipment. I have been fortunate to get most
well, what I was trying to saythe fellow that has it now pr0obably paid
what I was offered it for from the fellow that has had it for a very long
time in his barn. The guy that bought it a couple of months ago now wants
2.5 times what he probably paid for it and he hasn't even taken the time
So this guy is not the one you dealt with earlier. He has no excuse, he has
a General Class. Fire it up into a dummy load at least. I believe that the
scenario you mentioned is the truth. Like I said, I saw it and thought
someone might want it.

Yes, if the parts are any good, its worth $500.00,
less is a steal if its not a ball of rust.
Unless its built better then I build my stuff, I would not
care if it works, it's the parts you want.
If its built better then I build, its worth lots more!
I think the demand for parts is likely to
