as they were.
My first "Elmer" much like Eddy's, was a receiver. Ah, but what a receive
it was too! ;-)

Yes, and No. Back in 1948 at the ripe old age of 8
years I had a great Elmer W8ZFZ(SK), who helped me
learn the code and about radio. He helped me get
my Novice license, build my own transmitter and
modify the BC454 for a receiver and make a
converter for 40 and 15 meters.
