Hi all,
I originally posted this in the Boatanchors reflector and know that most
of you's read that forum. This is intended for those who don't (I have
no idea why anyone wouldn't) :-)

Actually, Amfone is the sister web site of this list and it has all the

Hello All,
I am not sure how much expansion is possible through qth.net, but I will
suggest what we could do if we are really ambitious: We could get our
own web site.
With our own web site, we would have a place where we could store photos,
manuals, schematics, etc. We could even have an on-l
Yaesu FT-DX-400 400 Watts pep? Pair of 6KD6 finals?
Anyone ever run one of these on AM?

Jim,
The TS-930 & TS-930SAT do VERY well on AM. They send TRUE DSB
w/Carrier. They receive AM GREAT!
To transmit AM with it, set carrier to about 20W, turn compression OFF,
and "inch" in the mic gain until you JUST have 100% modulation.

For what it's worth:
The Drake TR 4 will do passable AM.It's not spectacular but it works.
Still alot of bang for the buck with that rig and it will handle the less

The drake R8 is likely a nice receiver, but may not be ham ready

They are expensive I think.
The NRD-525 may be good, I never had one but talk to people who have them

Hi All,
Maybe we as a group need to belly up to the bar and start adding some
$$ to the till so the AM Radio group can have additional space? I
for one am interested in all the great information that is shared here
but I am also interested in the going prices for equipment.
Maybe if it is made

Hello,
In the May, 2007 issue of Electric Radio, well-known Drake expert Jeff
Covelli, WA8SAJ, describes a simple modification for the Drake TR-7 that
allows it to use the 6 kc AM filter for AM transmitting, (instead of the
default 2.3 kc SSB filter), thus allowing full double sideband AM transm
Hi Bob,
I agree, it would be "easier" to have the reply go directly to the

I have 67 lists that I subscribe to.
I am ONE of those that has fallen on his SWORD over the past year - AT

That is WHY I ask for the change in the REPLY function.

I run Thunderbird here and it gives me the option of right clicking on
the senders name and it will copy the email address to the clipboard. I
then hit reply and substitute the reflectors address with the copied

Jim and Brian,
I'd "like" to see it where if REPLY is clicked it goes to SENDER only.
Reply ALL does just that! It would go to everyone.
That would HAVE to help this latest bout of selling AND buying!

Hi Everybody,
Other than replacing a couple of old caps in the audio section, my Viking 2 is
done. It'll never win awards for its cosmetics (due to Hammy Hambone's
drilling of holes in the front panel, paint chips, and my lack of desire to fix
these cosmetic issues). Last night, I put in the r

That is not correct. Perhaps other mailing lists that you belong to

Hi Guys;
