Hello everyone,
I will be in EM06vu from January 21 to the 23 for the January VHF contest.
This
happens to be close to EM06/EM16/EM07/EM17, so I will be going that corner
also. I can't get to the exact corner, so I can only do 2 grids at a time. I
am going to try to be on most afternoon
It was the worst I've ever heard which was a shame as there were several new
calls and grids that I haven't heard in the past. I think I made it into the
Bird once but that was it. AO-27 earlier in the Day was bad as well. It
sounded like someone was pushing the buttons on their Mic and

Thanks for the reply . I live in the boonies , at least 10 miles from the
nearest super market scanner . So I think
I can rule that out . I do have a remote weather station , Maybe from that ,
but I've never seen it before . I thought maybe that or some internal software
message ?

Hi!
Saturday (8 January) morning at the Thunderbird Hamfest in
Glendale, Arizona, was a great time. This is the only indoor
hamfest in the Phoenix area, and there was a good turnout.
At different times in the late morning, I had some help at
the AMSAT table from Israel AD7ND (I still need to
It might have been GO-32 telemetry, based on what you saw.
Check out Mike DK3WN's OnlineKISS+ program and see if you can capture
some frames via your TNC. That will help you see what is really
coming through...

Problem is Damon, is that some of the worse offenders are guys who've been
around ever since I have been. Everyone out to get that elusive Grid Square
that they've worked a zillion times before. I too did the same as you, and
pretty much void the FM'er anymore, unless something special comes
I have talked directly to the editor in chief of QST. I got a not interested

Hi Jerry,
you heard the GO-32 beacon (every 30 sec a short burst). It's no UI-frame so
you can't use MixW.
If you use a TNC in KISS mode you will receive a short beacon like that:
[47 Bytes KISS Frame (without CRC)]
1 C0 00 0A 0B 15 00 8C 00 3C 7D 01 00 54 65 63 68 53 61 74 2D
21 56 34
Does anyone even read that mag?? We need old Wayne Green and 73 magazine back
again, I'd just about bet that would work..between 73 and HamRadio mags,
they were the BEST ham rags out..too bad they got eaten up.

Greetings All.
By way of a heads up:, I'm not sure we (AMSAT-NA) can do anyting about this.
However, our friends in Europe might bring up the issue in discussion.

As time goes on, my hunch is that this problem is only going to get worse.

I have to agree with the others regarding the mis-use of AO-51. I don't
get on there every pass but the other day was ridiculous. I thought it
was CH19. There is absolutely no respect. Another gripe I have are
those who work every pass and contact the same people each pass. That

the last day with interest. I have a thought worth mulling over I think,

Recieved this this afternoon . I think I can safetly say it is GO-32 . Guess I
need the software to decode it when it comes over .My station is not much ,
surprised I get this much . I use UISS set at 9600bps to capture the signal .
Thanks again .
