I have shipped an S band downconverter to Paul AC0Z. I'm sure he will need a
bit of Elmering from those of you who work the sats on 2401 MHz. Thanks to
Paul, AMSAT has a donation and I have a bit more room in my garage.

Short Range Devices (SRDs) in 433-434 are bad news.
The United Kingdom opened up 433/434 to SRDs in the 1990's. Automobile remote
control key fobs used it - very short range, very low power stuff but the
killer was the receivers.
The Key Fob receivers had wide-open front-ends and collapsed in

There was a pretty good discussion on this at NASAspaceflight.com and some of

It is possible there was an orbit change thrust performed after the shuttle
docked.
When the Shuttle docks with ISS, the ISS autopilot is turned OFF.
The Shuttles autopilot takes over for the duration of the flight.

yes, the end of an Era.
In the Mir days, i could fly a ham project to Mir in less than 18 months from

Now with ARISS/AMSAT, it takes 5-10 years.
It has been a boring past 10 years.
