Has anyone ever experimented with PVC pipe to use for a mast in place of
steel ? I have used it for vertical antennas and stands up excellent to the
winds and weather here in Toledo, Ohio .

I really think your best bet is instead of looking to other people who have
been on cruise ships. Try to contact a ham on a lake freighter. Contact them
on H.F. I believe they have a net also. When my H.F. station was up and
running I have had some contacts with ships.

To add to the thread I have a friend who has a semi repair shop. He has run
PVC through out the shop for compressed air. He puts 150 psi through the PVC
for air tools. I have played with PVC for a 2mtr mast. It worked pretty
well. I want to use it in smaller sections for my satellite antennas which
I have been trying to get familiar with PCSAT32. I was a bit confused today.
I tried switching from EST to UTC on my computer and I assumed everything
would remain the same as far as satellite positions on the map etc. When I
did change the time everything changed why is this? Where should I leave
Thank you, everyone who answered my question. I plan to master PCSAT32 by
spring, so I'll be ready when I put my antennas up. I'm a slow learner when
it comes to this stuff !

I remember that song from the early sixty's. There was a show on that had a
mad scientist clown type guy called Glue Arty. That was kind of his theme
song when he appeared on the show. He was pulled off the air for trying to
blow up an animal, "a rat I think" with a fire cracker. There maybe someon
I was following the space junk that was heading very close to the space
station. The news said the junk was part of a Chinese communications
satellite. Being a newbie here I was wonder if it was an old bird which was
used for ham communications at one time?

Sorry guys its been a busy day I thought I put in the left out information.
The coax for satellite work I was talking about was for two meters and 440
to link up with the ham satellites. I have about a 50 foot run or less. The
software I was referring to was SATPC 32 I have version 12.8 I thought I
I have been following the comments of AO-51 failing. I'm new to working the

Just got back from Dayton had a very good time. The A.M.S.A.T demonstration
