ISS currently has a D700 on an antenna in a module.
The addition of the antenna to columbia module implies ?
1. Shift to that module ?
2. Switching ability to new antenna ?
3. Dual ARISS in old node and new node ?

Just has the opportunity to view the ISS and shuttle, tagging along over Las
Vegas, NV. The shuttle was trailing approximately 22 seconds behind the
ISS. Now to calculate the distance. ;-)

Running SatPC32 here and am wondering how to configure the SQF files to drive
the IC910H for the ISS. Since most of the ISS frequencies are 2M/2M (up and
down links), will the software control for this V/V mode or does one have to do
the manual operation for the ISS?

The last two decent ISS passes for my location, when the ISS has been in
packet mode, have been nothing but "FM RS0ISS to CO2SR" and other CO2SR
messages. Its been so bad that its almost impossible to get any messages
up-linked as there is hardly any space in between messages - I saw a

Just noted that the listing for ISS in satellite details @ AMSAT has the uplink
145.800 and down 437.800 ,but Satpac has just the reverse for the voice
repeater. Which is correct?

Need a little help with ISS
Was under the impression that ISS had a beacon, but have not been able to
locate the frequency.
To use ISS satpc32 I believed it was mentioned that some sort of a hand shake
between the program/radio/computer was necessary. Can someone provide what has
to be don

The 437.550 is workin pretty good, I guess no one uses it if they cant see
their Callsign on the boob tube.

I have a PacComm TINY-2 MK-2 TNC and would like to use it for ISS Packet.
My question is: Can I use it with a computer running MS Windows XP, or do I
need a DOS based OS to use this type TNC?
What software is necessary to run on Windows XP and possible APRS?

Got through this morning on the ISS using APRS. What frequencies are good for
contacting the crew? I have heard of several differentones and seeing how it is
always a pretty short pass...Or small footprint rather. I dont know just would
like to try the right one.

Obviously it is possible to get a QSL card from the other amateur radio station
on the ground, with whom you have a 2 way packet QSO in a pass.

Can some good person help me try packet on the Iss 145.825. I have Multipsk
and also Mixw on my pc so hopefully one of these will allow me to send
packet via soundcard to my Ic-910. Have a Cat cable and audio in and out
from the din connection on back of radio so what next?. I
So here we are again, Amsat shows the ISS in the right spot but the keps it
gives out for automatic updates are around 6 minutes off again. I know about
the boosting and why they are off, just dont ubderstand WHY they are good on
the online tracker and not anything else?

The ISS Maildrop is great for people in low population areas. I found out the
hard way about using it in the US. Now I and others on the west coast are
suffering because a certain someone keeps logging in EVERY pass and is not even
holding the connection. The email address is no good on QRZ. AR

hi folks, in the latest sat report 141 they are reporting that the ISS
downlink/uplink is 9k6. is this true, see they did just change the digi to
rs0iss-3. it was rs0iss-4.

I was following the space junk that was heading very close to the space
station. The news said the junk was part of a Chinese communications
satellite. Being a newbie here I was wonder if it was an old bird which was
used for ham communications at one time?

let others know that their setups are not necessarily improper - that those who
"think" they know what they are doing are not hearing it right
According to various sources, the ISS orbit was raised 1 km Thursday. This
will result in a "slippage" of the old Kep's predictions of about 20 seconds
per day. So make certain your Keps are up to date. The Celestrak updates
used by most tracking programs look good.

What requirements are there for a valid QSO over the ISS digi? Is it the same
as AO-51 where it is just an exchange of callsign and grid? Can it be done
through the Comment text of an APRS HT like the VX8GR or THD72? Or is a tnc
needed or software like UISS?

I got APRS satellite packets via ISS but not while I was looking.
My KEPS were 2.5 days old and I heard nothing during my "predicted" passes,
though looking at the APRS radio later, I did see RS0ISS and 3 other
stations. Maybe they re-boosted.

I am portable in Alabama and do not have access to my past e-mail. A post a
day or so ago had information about a school that had a scheduled QSO with the
ISS on August 18. I am at a camp in Alabama and would love to at least monitor
the conversation coming from the ISS. Would someone repost

I did get QSL cards from Brad, N5LUL and Josh W9HT, and had a lot of packet
QSO's in the past couple months through the ISS including a couple with

Tonight about 2320 28/10/10 UTC I finally made contact with NA1SS, Col
Wheelock. A BEAUTIFUL flyby I watched, turned on HT in the truck, heard voice.

Perhaps one of the smart guys that make TNC"s from uP can include some search
and replace code in the digi path ?
Add another option "Satellite SGATE DIGI"
Search for "SGATE" replace with "WIDE2-1" or preserve the "SGATE" as well.
Maybe a satellite "robot" can be made like I did years ago wit

I have recently been unsuccessful in sending digital packets to the ISS
since the change in radios on the station.
I use an Elk with my Yaesu VX8DR and the path I use is ARISS. I have
recently tried adding a WIDE to that path to see if I could get gated, but
have been largely unsuccessf

I am so confused. Is anyone going to make up a paper, ISS HamTV for
dummies? I would like to work on this project but there does not at this
time seem to be an easy shopping list, with connect tab a to slot a. I
would hope there is something more clear in time to get a build done and
ready by July.
There's been mention on the web about NASA switching to using GNU/Linux on its
part of the ISS.
