Okay, time for my stupid question of the week.
Why are our sats so low powered? Why don't we have better batteries, solar
power systems, or generators?
Seems our sats are so low powered they require extraordinary measures to
receive.
Is this an accurate perception?

I have a log periodic covering 50mhz to 1.3ghz. 360 rotation w/no
obstructions,55ft up on tower. If I put a duplexer on feed line using a
2000x would this be suitable to work VO-52??? Thanks George

About the future HamTV experiment, is it possible to use a cheap RTL DVB-T
dongles used or RTLSDR to receive such signals with proper LNA and
downconverter. If the downconversion fits the signal on a proper channel does
it device is capable of decode the transmitted format???

I want to use a single coax for three rigs, feeding to three antennas.
Rig 1 = 6 meters
Rig 2 = 2 meters
Rig 3 = 70 cm
Each has its own antenna at the remote tower.

I'm new to using Ubuntu-Linux. I finally with a lot of outside counciling
got FlDigi to run using either Hamlib or Flrig to handle CAT on my FT-847.
I thought I was home free until I found that Gpredict would not control CAT
on the radio. What am I doing wrong? Can anyone help? Linux is my only

It's not that difficult. I'm going to CC the 'bb on this so anybody else
facing the same problem can use this. Also, they should be almost drop-in
compatible, but I ran all of this on a Linux Mint install, not Ubuntu. Mint
(IMHO) is a little more friendlier than Ubuntu, but is a direct fork of
