You could use GPL, LGPL,, etc... most of actually works for icons (example Oxygen) are considered to be libs too, so they use LGPL... or whatever similar. You could read them all so to choose the one that fits to your ideal. I will only include this great work on my skin if they are GPL or LPGL.

Hi, I think you shouldn't release amsn with 8.5 because it's not yet "stable" although it does seem to be stable.. we never know how it would react on a larger scale... about the chekcbutton, I think what BoneFill suggested is very good, since the checkbuttons images were just a 'trick' we use
