My apologies for this silly, newbie question. I am new to Linux.
I'm running Analog under Win 98 right now and I want to put Analog on
Linux. I have Linux on an IBM 9595 (Intel) at home and on a Compaq (Intel)
at work. What version of Analog for Linux do I download? My Linux
distribution is S
I can't think of any reason. All of my AT commands run after each reboot.
The only thing that I can think of is that your scheduler service is not
automatically starting. Do you have to do a manual restart of that service
to get things running? Is your AT command set to run EVERY time or just

I upgraded from 3.30 to 3.901b on the Windows platform and I am not able to
get the search reports to come out. All of the reports that I had in the
previous version do come out but not the new reports. Do I need to do
anything special to turn them out? (I don't have to do anything for the

I've had a chance to run Analog 3.3 on a Win98 platform a few times now and
have been able to see a few interesting things. Under 3.2 I had about 30
corrupt log file entries. Under 3.3 that dropped to about 10 and, thanks
to the ease of debugging due to the error out file, I was able to determin

I've been using analog against Win NT4/IIS4 server logs for about 4 months
or so and I've suddenly had the same thing occur. It is going to be fun to
determine which line is causing the others to go out of 'alignment' if that
is the problem. If not I have no idea why it suddenly is not working.
It could be done as follows:
BROWALIAS "Mozilla/*(compatible;*MSIE 3*" MSIE3
BROWALIAS "Mozilla/*(compatible;*MSIE 4*" MSIE4
BROWALIAS "Mozilla/*(compatible;*MSIE 5*" MSIE5
BROWALIAS Mozilla/3* Mozilla3
BROWALIAS Mozilla/4* Mozilla4
BROWALIAS Mozilla/5* Mozilla5
Someone passed those commands on
If that turns out to be the way that you do it, may I suggest that you do
it through an analog.cfg command that allows the summary time period to be
set to whatever number is desired: 1 day, 20 days, 30 days, 60 days, and so
on. That will make the program useful to others who may share a similar

Once again you are responding here but not to Analog-Author messages. Not
sure if that means you are not getting the messages in Analog-Author, help
gets priority for your attention, or you do not want the source code. I
have to move the source code that I have sitting on the web site for you so
might goto a

Depending where the "fancy" html is located, the module I am writing could
do it for him. My module takes multiple analog html output files and makes
them into one file. I see no reason why a non-analog html file could not
be included in there to be "inserted" in the one big html file.

I sent a couple of messages to Analog-Author a while back but have not
received a response. I reposted one here and had it answered and the
problem resolved. The other was specifically for you. Is Analog-Author
broken?
Thanks

Jason and Susan,
I put all of my commands (HOSTALIAS, HOSTOUTPUTALIAS, IMAGEDIR, BROWALIAS,
and so on) in the analog.cfg file. The date and output name and location
are put on the command line. You may be able to adapt this method in your
situation. As Jason has said previously, "Analog isn't
Pierre,
I have the following in analog.cfg for the IIS 4 log files I use:

LOGFORMAT MS-EXTENDED
Work great! Unless you have something different or special from the normal
format that should work.

A few days ago I sent this request for help to the author but have not
received a response yet. He is probably still in the moving process or
maybe analog-author is not working. Is there anybody who has seen the
source code for analog.c that can help me? It is at the end of analog.c
that I am t

Peter,
Go the menu bar and click on Project and then Settings. You will have a
tab dialog box in front of you. Click on the LINK tab and make sure on the
left side it is set for "Settings for" "All Configurations". Click on the
General Category on the right side and make sure wsock32.lib in o

Has anybody tried to compile Analog in a Windows environment? I am trying
to add some modules to Analog but I am VERY rusty on my C.

I have been testing several log analysis tools and so far Analog is the
best by far. It has the best output and customization of the ones that I
have seen unless I want to spend a bundle of money. Even in that case,
Analog is VERY close to the high price stuff. It is GREAT!
I'd like to create multiple reports for the same report type in the same
output file. I have not been able to figure out how to do that. It was my
assumption that the SORTBY keyword triggered the creation of that report.
But putting multiple SORTBYs in the configuration file proved that
