I can confirm that my sales have also dropped by at least 50% in the past 10
days or so.

Hi everyone
The slow down is not related to the market ranking, my app has not
moved market ranking. I have seen sales drop from 15-20 per day to 3-4
per day. The app actually had more publicity in december than any
month previously.
The obvious changes are the market app changes - has something
That's a very good point about the buy button.
I have mixed feelings about the new client. It kind of feelks like a
lipstick on a pig. I don't think people using the new client will be
able to discover apps any more than with the old one. Yes, the longer
descriptions are welcome, but that's
My sales seem to be back to normal now.
Yeah, I buy the theory about the buy button, no pun intended. Maybe now
users have got used to it...

and 5 respectively.

I think the market ranking are more accurate now. My app, which has
over 20,000 downloads and a 4.6 rating, should certainly be higher
than an app that has only 1000-5000 downloads and a 4.0 rating. I
think they previously have too much emphasis on active installs.
Looks like it's fixed now, and
In the Finance category where my app is, if I look at the Free apps, a
lot of the top ones are Korean banking/stock apps, which no doubt come
preinstalled on phones in Korea.
I don't understand why the market doesn't filter by language for app
names, when it does for comments.

Yeseveryone in Korea who has ever written an App appears to have
released it to every market in the world.
I would much prefer if Google actually nominated Local Language(s) for
each Market and Automatically dumped all Apps not Localized to those
languages into a new 'Foreign Language'
Interesting. My saday and rank have remained steady. I have seen a
sharp drop off in cancellations since the 17th, but sales have stayed
at about 90-120 per day.

From what I can gather those 1-star ratings are from users who discovered

much preferable to a 1-star rating (for both user and dev) :(
Yeah,
Yeah, I expect to see a lot of those too, my app is just too
complicated for some people and it takes 15 minutes to realize.
So is mine, but in my description I am offering refunds to users
within 24hr still, even if it's not automatic.
Have to admit that it's nice to see a pristine screen
Has anyone seen resolution of this?
My sales have decreased, most likely due to a dramatic drop in
rankings (by about 25 slots). Sudden and dramatic would be how I
would characterize the change. Seems closely correlated with the new
market app.
Interestingly, my active installs has been
I don't know about other markets, as I don't sell on them, but on

My app is #1 in its category (Highest rated paid apps) in AppBrain and #76
in the equivalent category on the Android Market website. Right now, I'm
unable to check its ranking on the Android Market app thanks to being in a
non-paid app country :(

You know that it's the SIM card that determines if you can see the
paid apps, not your physical location.

Indeed I am painfully aware of this and have written in countless forums

Yah I've noticed a slowdown... not as much as 50% but maybe by 1/4.
Of course I only have a few weeks of data to go on.
So far, I seem to spike when i release an update, but like I said, I
don't have enough data yet to tell.

Same large drop in sales here too. Also, similar big, overnight drop
in ranking for my top-rated app. A few months ago it had been #1 in
the Health category for many months. Then was in the top 3 or 4 for
several months, then a couple of days ago plummeted to 13th. :-(

From the other comments it seems it's not related to price at all...
but I thought I'd offer this anyway as it might help you make more money

For items under $10, $7.99 and $8.99 are kind of a no-man's land. They

I've seen a 50% drop in sales in the same timeframe. Not that my sales
were huge before but I had a 5 day period with no sales at all and
since then it's been a trickle. I've got promo graphics, feature

Another thing I've noticed, is that my purchases from the UK have
stopped in the last 5 days.
Before that I've average 1 1/2 sales a day from the UK in the prior 30

Yes, I've dropped from 3 to 4 and then today to 7 in my category
(Finance). Which is understandable, as my sales have essentially been
halved.
My free app downloads seem to be fine, it's just the conversion from
free to paid went from about 12.5% to about 7%.
The one thing I noticed is that
