and okay...I will not use "URGENT" in my posts (This is actually the
first time i've ever used it, and i've been on the android forums for
a looong time). Everyone makes mistakes and I have no problem in
learning to change.

Tez, your steps with monkey usage are correct.
Some information about monkey usage and monkey commands you can find
in:

You can do by touching your button in your application and checking
logcat output. There should be message like:

That's clearly not the best motive, but it is a common one in LOTS of
Internet forums, not just this one. It is not something we can really
change.
But Trek is right about at least one thing, even if not about the
manner in which he said it: it was a mistake to put 'URGENT' in the
subject of the o

Agreed. From what little I understand of the problem, a title like
"Monkey not responding to telnet commands" would be more appropriate.

Tez, why don't you repost your question and abandon this toxic thread.
Oftentime, stating a question a better way gets better answers
I would agree that dropping the all caps from the title would help you and
keep the forum civil.

I don't think this was directed at you. This was an example of another thing

Then why respond to anything? Just so you can prove how smart you

@Mark, thanks for the reply. Yes --port is a new thing. it allows
network control of the monkey, looks like i'll have to dig thru the
code to

It explains why you feel you need help urgently - it does not explain why
the rest of the people on this group would find it urgent to help you.
That's a very important difference.
Please understand I'm not trying to beli

FYI I am a scientific programmer for a european university. We are
doing work on Android security.
We have a research hypothesis that can be proved valid if we solve the
above stated problem.
This work is on a deadline. And one entire chain of work will be
regarded as discarded/valid based on this.

@TrekIng - thanks for your professional opinion. You have admitted
that you have not used monkey yet you make the claim that having
trouble with it is not urgent. Did you base this on your previous
"monkey experience"?
I don't have time to sit arguing here.

IMO, if, for the sake of argument, someone's job depends on solving a
problem, then that is a validly "urgent" problem. And in general,
where someone is up against a deadline for some reason -- say they
need to get an app ready to demo to the corporate bigwigs next week --
that's likewise "urgent"

What kinda statement is that?
Anyone who knows, my problem is not "urgent" but "very important" that
I find a solution.
Thanks.

I'm not trying to be rude, but however important this may be for you really
does not make this urgent - I doubt someone's life depends on this.
See, by adding "
I have some important work that depends on whether this component with
monkey works.
