My N1 hung on the cross "X" screen after I flashed it with a new boot
image. How do I debug this boot problem? Is there a way to read the
boot sequence off the device to see where it gets stuck?

Greg KH is actually very helpful here. He is the top poster of all
time, and certainly potassium was indeed "lazy" in getting everyone to
find out basic configuration questions. There are too many branches
even for experts to know all.

What I observed is I don't have all the permissions on the file.
Once I made chmod -r 777
I could compile without those errors.
