Well, so far, arachne's insight has been the only transport agent that
reliably sends mail to my smtp server (I've recently tried x_mailn.exe
and smtpop12.exe; they did not work).
However, I prefer to receive/read mail with other software. So I
wonder: How do I use insight.exe as a standalone pro

I can use Arachne InSight and other DOS-based email client

I agree with LD, with only probebly one diffrance: What I like to say
is, "if you cant join them, bypass them.". That is, if a site, for
example, require you to have "this and that" kind of thing to access
their site, and you know that your machine cant handle it, then i
Clarence,
I did try that already and I didn't get any
different error message than when epppd was run from
the arachne.bat file. I'll try again tho', maybe I didn't
do something the way you did.

Ok, Eric, try my suggestion to altE in the middle of a countdown and
type EPPPD at the DOS
Hi L.D.,
I hope you had a good vacation. It was sometimes
kind of quiet on the list, however, while you were gone.
I would also say that https is an important feature I
wish Arachne had. What I want to know is what stimulated
you into sending these words of wisdom at this particular
time

Everyone uses the internet differently.
However, there are some aspects of the internet that *everyone* must
deal with, regardless of how they desire to use it.
Currently, if I want to change my password on my account with my ISP I
cannot ask them to do it. I must do so, but to do so I *must* h
Hey again Clarence,
No, I am not connected. Epppd doesn't

Hey Arachne list!

a travelling arachne/dos machines but am running into a few snags.

If you can successfully log in to an ISP with a number of different DNS numbers, is
use of of one of them better than another?
If the answer is yes, is there a way to tell with is best?

Hi Clarence,
I am writing this using A1.66 core after
making connection with A1.64 core. So the A1.66 core
works after the TCP/IP connection is made. It just
refuses to make connection for some reason.

Hi Clarence,
I tried your debug suggestions. The ppp.log
looked the same when I connected with core 164 as when
I couldn't connect with core 166. The ppp.log had only
one line in either case:
PPPD status: IP address set to 63.20.101.117
The only difference was the IP addre
"Disappearing passwords" could be a bug in Arachne or a bug in your ISP,

"Relaying denied" could be a failure of SMTP authentication. Normally SMTP
authentication would be used by a free email service such as Telebot that is not
an ISP, to prevent an open relay that could be us

About two months (?) ago, there was a three-day stretch where I got nothing from
the Arachne list, though I don't know if that was related to ORBS or open relay.
