It happens to me too and on less than rare occasions. As I
have warned other staff members at our library, I
'affectionately' call them 'TWAIN' wrecks. When it happens
you just reboot the computer and of course you loose your
data. Just another annoying quirk with ARIEL I suppose.

Our shuts down the first time each day that we send an article to a
patron, and we have to reboot. I haven't reinstalled Ariel and the Twain
and SCSI driver and third driver piece, but I'm told that's what I need
to do,

Do you conduct a daily shut down of the Ariel computer? We find doing this
prevents that type of problem.
