Gulzar penned down Chaiyya Chaiyya but Sukhwinder did write Thayya Thayya. Yes he had been roped in for singing Chaiyya Chaiyya but Gulzar sahb couldn't find the right words for punjabi version Thayya Thayya. Sukwinder was still hanging around in the studios at that time, so he helped pen it donw.
