Use what expertise you have. ie use the COM

You could try creating a VIEW form of the table. Something like select DISTINCT user_name from table. Then use that VIEW in your table field and add a qualification to filter your results.I don't believe there is any built in way of getting distinct values from a table in Remedy, unless you use

Does this affect performance at all?
Thanks.

Maybe. I've never found any, but it is not a good idea to have a setfields action that addresses a field that does not exist. If you forget and assign that fieldid to another field, all sorts of things can happen. If you assign it to the same

Hi,
ARS 5.1 on Linux
Need to check whether any EXISTING user has their Login Name and Password same in User form. Any ideas as how to check this?

Anthony,
Do you mean find users where their password is the same as
their login name? If so, then you could use the API
to:
1. Retrieve list of all login names in the User
form.
2. Loop through each login name and attempt to login to
Remedy with the password

Only way I know of will be at the database

Push all User records into this new form, pushing Login_Name to submitter,

Hi Sergio,
I've implemented row level access security (effectively making use of the Read
Security) in the CMDB and Asset Management, though I did not have to implement
Write Security at the time.
Considering the design of AM 6.0, this isn't going to be that clean, but it
should
be possible...

Hey David:
Here is a dirty little
app I cooked up some time ago that will give you the file size. You can tear the

This is possible as long as you know the Table name (that is where the attachments are stored in the database.) The attachment field information is stored in a Large Object datatype in Oracle. Since I work with this datatype (but what I'm going to

Hi Roger,
I'm looking for that template. I have Visio 2003 and even went to the website but do not find anything referring to Database Model, alot of Network Diagrams. It's not in my full install of Visio either. Any hints as to where to find it?
Thanks,

Found it under Tools / Add-Ons / Link to Database and a wizard appears. You log in via the odbc connection and select a table.
I haven't gotten any output so apparently I'm not doing something right from that point but will keep working at it.

Yup - checking workflow references before deleting fields is a must.
What are you guys using for a cross-reference resource? We ran MARS, which
was turned into RDP, which couldn't be trusted, among other weaknesses. By
the way, is RDP ready for prime time yet?

With aradmin.exe you can export ARS objects from the command line (see

the API: -d DSOname -b DSOPoolname -v vuiname.
I looked through the API
Stephen,
As of now, .NET API only exposes 'first-class' server object types only.
Actually that is true even with Java API as well. These other object
types you quoted plus flashboard related objects (data source, variable
etc) are not truly server objects but are data within some system forms.
Appajee,
If I understand correctly the export options within the .Net API can
include *everything*, for example when you export a Form the VUIs
associated with the forms are also included in the export. Correct?
To put another way, if I exported all Forms (-f), Active Links (-a),
Filters (-t),

Chris,
What you need to do is spend X days writing a MT and ARS plugin, because there
isn't actually an SSO *implementation* in ARS6.3+, just an interface. And if
we're honest, the SSO interface isn't really very different to what could be
achieved with ARS5.1.2.
