I just tested passing 300 chars of data through to Work Order and it's
working...SRM 2.2 Patch 2.
Sorry I can't help with the SQL question though. Perhaps the error is
related to the CAI:EventParamsInterface form, which is an inner join of

Those fields are all unlimited.
I know some of them weren't but it seems to get stuck at the
CAI:EventParams part.
But anyone know if creating the column in SQL 2005 is ok or do I have
to do something else to bring that column back?
For example, deleting the field and recreating it?

It seems that a few of our service request fields are greater than 254
characters but the workflow wouldn't use the unlimited value field.
So these service requests were 'stuck'.
Figured that allowing more than 254 would allow it through and it did.

Hi,
We had an issue with the CAI:EventParams form.
The Params Value (301386800) input value was changed from 254 to 1500
as a workaround for an issue.
The save took place and things were working fine for a while.
Then we changed it to 255 and it caused an issue.

Thanks for the info and I'll do a search and let you know what I find or
what route BMC may recommend (I opened a support ticket).

I agree with your comment on getting the relationships right, and it's true
that many of the classes can be used pretty much any way you like. However, I
keep going back to the idea that each class was created for a particular reason

That's a good point, Lyle. But Communication_Endpoint is a pretty general

Check if the 'Advanced' checkbox is ticked ON for any table under Table/Tree

Hope it helps.

Which classes are you thinking of? I see ones for logical items like an IP

The 2.1 data model does have sub-classes for network components. What you
don't have a class for should work as a categorization subclass in one of
the existing ones.

Hi Shawn,
I just reread your original post. I didn't catch that it was user activity
in Asset Management that was triggering this. Looks like two different
issues.
I haven't used AM for a while but that does sound familiar with AM 6 and
opening a CI form (i.e. Computer System). I forget the sp

Most network equipment simply goes under Computer System. If I recall

What is the best method for using Asset Management to create CI's such
as Network Equipment etc... ?
In CMDB there are different forms for a plethora of network equipment
but in Asset, under CI Type, there is a very limited set of data.
Any suggestions?
Tauf Chowdhury | Forest Laboratories,
Good afternoon everyone,
We randomly started getting a message on Asset Management today citing an error
any time you try to open the Asset Management Console or any form dealing with
assets. The error is:

I am as well. We upgraded from a prior version of SRM and had a BMC person
here doing some minor custom stuff, so I wonder if there was a problem in the
upgrade because of that.
That should be ok as I plan to restore my DB from production and do a new
install of 2.2. Perhaps that would help.
HI All,
Does anyone have a matrix of all of the forms that are installed with ARS 6.3,
7.1, and 7.5?
I am looking to see a comparison of what has been added, changed and dropped
during the evolution to 7.5
Thanks

Hi Bala,
Yes, you could federate to other AM systems but in 7.03 you would need CIs
in the base system representing each of the CIs in the target system. The
relationships could then be built.
Have you looked at 7.5 as it may have a better fit to what you need..
Cheers

We're on SRM 2.2 p002 and it has Relationship functionality for WO's. We have

that's arguable.
