This error is reported, but should not stop the AR System server from starting or from functioning fully. This message should have no relationship to any issue about starting the environment. I assume there is nothing else in the error log and the server service is not just taking a few minutes

Hi All & TGIF, Currently I have a VIP and then two load balancers pointing to two mid-tier servers. Each mid-tier points to a load balancer that points to the two AR Servers. As shown below the session timeout is set to 60 minutes but I have users complaining the frequently need to log back in

Mark, You don't need the sticky bit or session persistence between the mid tiers and AR servers. That is the new feature in 7.6.04 and above. However, from the user hitting the VIP to the Mid Tier, you still need some sort of session persistence setup to keep the user tied to 1 web server. This sti

Which is exactly why you are having problems. Remedy requires Sticky bits on the Mid-Tier, not on the App server. Remedy at this moment doesn't support session sharing, and such requires sticky bits :) -Original Message- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:ars

Like Doug said, that error has not bearing on the startup of the AR System server. You can initialize the AR System startup log by modifying the armonitor.conf file, and putting the –s flag in the line that has the arserver startup defined. This will create a new log file in the AR Server directory

Hi Tauf, Ok, this is starting to makes some sense. Just to be clear should the sticky bit timeout match the General Settings - Session Timeout (minutes) - 60 or the Connection Timeout (Minutes) - 5 ? Thanks Mark From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arslist@ARSLIST.ORG

Frequent Session Timouts

Hello The key piece of information we're missing is the type of load balancer. If it's an F5, you need to enable the persistence and OneConnect profiles, due to the unique way in which the F5 persistence feature doesn't mean sticky sessions, but sticky TCP connections if I recall :-) John -

I believe it's the General Settings - Session Timeout. The other one I think is for the # of connections and timeout for mid tier to AR. You would want the sticky session to timeout on or before the Mid Tier session. On Fri, Feb 22, 2013 at 1:28 PM, Brittain, Mark wrote: > ** > > Hi Tauf, >

Guess part of the issue is when the system starts up, the lack of information as to what it's doing (some older versions could sit there at a prompt doing basically nothing for 10-15 minutes) one could panic and think - since the system wasn't up - that it did affect the startup from occuring an

Mark, Many others have commented about various topics around this. Yes, you do need the "sticky" setting for the load balancer in front of mid-tiers (you do not have to have that over the AR System server). Over time we will not require it over the mid-tier either but we do for now. You have
