Hi List,
we are planning to move our 7.0.0.1 servergroup to new hosts. As I understand,
the licenses are generated using some system information (MAC? SN?). Is there a
way to move existing licenses to new hosts or do we need BMC to generate new
licenses? It would be great if someone could give
Hi,
If you login to the support web site, it is easy to find the license-purge:
http://www.bmc.com/support/reg/purgelicense-5034.html?c=n
You need the hostid of the new host, and the most robust way would be to
install your AR Server and check this through a client and open the add/remove
I'm installing developer studio 7.5 patch 8.
Our company has upgraded all of our desktops to windows 7 and I am having
issues with developer studio on Windows 7 64 bit. After I launch it the login
screen doesn't show and plugins do not seem to load. I found this log file in
my workspace. I

I pointed it to the 32 bit I have installed (I also have the 64 bit installed
in a different directory. It is also a different version). The 32 bit version
I am using is this: Java verison 1.6.0_45
Thanks,

I know you mentioned there are no changes, however just to make sure why
don't you take database logs on both mid tier and wut and compare the SQL
queries that fire on selection of menu. This is a parallel route I would
take to the routes mentioned above not to waste time.

On Dec 13,
Sean,
in 7.5, I don't believe that you 'point' the Dev Studio to a particular
Java. The best way I have found is to ensure that the 32 Bit Java is in
your path before the 64 Bit.

I am calling a third-party WSDL from Remedy (Set Fields Action)... I need to
be able to send over the Date (Remedy Date Field) in my request. Remedy is
unable to send the DATE in XML standard format. Any suggestions?
A similar line is already in that file:
com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.level=SEVERE
Will do that same thing?
Also, I know there are lots of other Java processes running. Would they be
impacted by this change?
Here is a sample of the messages, of which there 1000s:

Have you tried installing dev studio in a different directory from the default.
Also maybe move/delete your workspace and start fresh.

com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.level=SEVERE is for file log.
Your problem is for logging into form.
You need to use com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.ARSystemHandler.level=SEVERE
This will not impact other java process.

So we just recently migrated off MAPI to IMAP and from Exchange 2013 to an
hMail server for our email. Since doing so our emails have been processing much
faster and it no longer experiences the Exchange 2013 MAPI import problems.
However, now we have an issue where occasionally the Email
Hello,
We have a need to create a text file for every ITSM Change request (one record
per file) and transport it to a location where a mainframe job can pick it up
for processing.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how this can be done?
Thanks!!
I vaguely recall a number of email engine fixes regarding mime encoding on
7.6.04 SP5 ... If that's applicable to your situation

A little more info please? Do you need it just one for your existing CR's?
Does it need to be a automated or will a manual extract work? If automated,
when does it need to happen? Every time a CR changes, only when it is created,
only when it is resolved? Etc.

It needs to be an automatic process on the creation of a Change record. We
need a file for every record.
I know how to trigger the file, run a report and get it into the right format,
but I'm just exploring options on how to get it to the mainframe.
Thanks!!
Carol,
It depends upon your access to the mainframe.
ARS can send an email, write to a directory that the mainframe can read (i.e.
via FTP), publish a web service, etc.
It might be best to ask the mainframe team how they prefer to receive it.

Hi Misi/Carl/LJ/Experts,
Do we have any solution for this from API or is it considered to be a bug or
drawback from API ?
Can't I override the user access ?
Please assist.

As I said before, it is none of that. BMC updated the system to not allow
the user to connect from more than one system at a time. This is designed
by Remedy to stop people from bypassing their license rules, there is no
bypass, and attempts to bypass it are attempts to bypass limitations, which
