Hello, I am trying to edit login.jsp on 7.6 Unix mid tier but getting an error 'Permission denied. You are not the owner'. I also tried changing the permissions still no luck. Rename the file or moving a new file didnt work too. Trying to add a 'System maintenance message' on top of the login s

Since it is owned by root then only root can modify You will need to contact your system admin (whoever can login to the server as root) to change the permissions/owner If root has given you rights to run the chown command you could do sudo chown login.jsp Fred -Original M
