Thank you Doug for the clarification.
I did a test and here's what I got:
on v7.6.04 - I got a warning on Dev Studio - Message - Index length longer
than 255 bytes may not work on all databases: AR System Email Messages.
Code - 8037.
on v5.1.2 - I got an ERROR - ARERR 210 - Total length of all
our needs.

Thanks everyone for the valuable input.
Joe,
Thanks for the details, appreciate your help.
Ditto - I was comparing the Indices on AR System Email Messages form and
found that -
v5.1.2- 255 limit was enforced, and a while back when I was trying to add
some indices didn't allow and threw an error,
If I remember correctly you couldn't work with indexes in Best Practice
mode until 8.0, maybe 8.1. That and deployable apps are the two major
limitations that I seem to to remember from the initial release of Overlays.

Raj,
You should not be in base development mode ever (for the most part)and
no, you won't see an index created in overlay in base, because the only
things you see in base are things that were there when BMC shipped
them...and it wasn't there, so you won't see it :)
