best way to benchmark performance of ITSM functionality

We're planning an upgrade to 7.6.04 from 7.5 - the main driver is for improved client performance, namely web client since in 7.6.04 that is all the client can use. Can anyone provide any insight on what the best tools / approaches would be for measuring client web performance of ITSM

If you want to stick to BMC tech, they offer a product called TMART which I believe comes with a performance/ load testing tool derived from Silk test. I've never used it but got the sales pitch drilled into the side of my head with a jackhammer :) Sent from my iPhone On Jan 19, 2012, at 4:18

From another point of view, will the ramp up time and resources needed for load testing really be cost effective for you? Most would be OK with base lining their current environment and then making sure the new one performs as good or better. You can do this by logging the queries and on the web

We went through the same hurdle when we were upgrading to ITSM 7.6.03. We use HP tools internally for load testing and it did not completely work with remedy. It could record only logins/non-ITSM form updates/logouts. So we are left with either buying a third party tools for which we do not

I think one of the important things to consider when doing user testing is to get as much prod data into the main ITSM tables like Incident, Task, Work Info, etc... That way, the testing can account for all the table refreshes that are done on things like the Incident Management and Overview
