Hi,
We're in the process of assessing the 7.6.04 Release Management module and
our release manager would like to talk to someone that is already using it
to hear about the good, the bad, and the ugly. She's not subscribed to the
arslist, so I'm asking on her behalf. If you'd be willing
Hi, somebody is using Approvals for Release? Do you get the email
notifications.?
I had check all what BMC's Knowledge article KA316048 suggest, all is

notification message that is in AP:Notification form named:
Hello Listers,
I have 2 questions on release management.
We are currently running ARS 7.1/ITSM 7.0.03 (microsoft shop). We plan on
moving to 7.6.0x in the near future.
My issue is: my users are not accustomed to using release management; heck it
took me a couple of years to make them use change
Release management is a new application and did not replace Change management.
If you do not give any licenses to your users they will not see the entry point
on the home page, 7.5 was the first version with release.

Rest easy! You can use Change with or without Release. And yes, Release
was introduced in 7.5, though the 7.6x versions are better and more fully
supported.

The Remedy Release Management is a new application for us, and we're

Anyone know of any Best Practice data rules that one could use to set those
up? Anyone with experience with the app. with some lessons learned to share

2) Also, we're missing some parts in the Release Management Console such
as:
a) No Show Details link on top of the table containing the list of
Releases (beside the Create, View, and Print links)
b) Under Functions in the Console pane, we're missing the Release

Hello!
Currently we have on-demand / adhoc Release schedules. I am trying to
streamline our process by introducing Release Management with quarterly
(periodic) releases.
Any recommendations or any proven Release methodology that you have been
able to implement and follow consistently
From what I have read in the User Guides, the CMDB supports Release
Management but that's about all the documentation I can find about
doing Release Management in Remedy. When ITIL talks about the Release
Record, is that the Change Request form or the tasking form in Remedy?
Thank you
John
