This is flat out wrong. Duany had no part in the Deal that was made.
Duany had no part in the Plan that was conceived to fit the Deal.
Duany was hired to develope design standards and act as a mediator
between the City and Asbury Partners when the public asked for
changes to the plan.
In the
Duany helped draft the plan, and he wasn't a mediator between the
parties, he was the City's representative in the negotiation on the
plan.
The lawyers drafted the contract.
Ergo, the City had plenty of professional help with the
transaction. Some just won't admit it.
