Only recently, I am trying Festival and on invoking festival --server I get
these errors :

I was just able to connect to my festival server.. but the voice generated
by festival sounds too wired ..really.
I installed only festival, i didn't install speech_tools and couple progams
as was documented in voip-info.org
How can I tune up festival to have better voice (not as good as

In the interests of playing around and wasting time, I've installed the latest version of the
Festival stuff, 1.95beta.
And, in the interests of future Asterisk-Festival connectivity, I applied the 1.4.3 patch to put in the
asterisk related routines. I did it by hand, but, it looks

i have everything installed .. but can't seem to get the voice to get
into asterisk
i tried
System(/usr/local/play_ola /tmp/dino.ola)
as a test .. but it times out ..
any solutions ?

I use the Background command from the agi. The audio file
has to be in the proper directory, i.e. /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/fr

version 2.0 should be showing up soon (end of July). There is even a
Beta version (Festival 1.95) available for download. Supposedly, the new
version has many bug fixes as well as a new HTS
