I don't know how you normally turn on screen shade, but if it has a keyboard shortcut assigned to it, I suppose you could put it in the AutoStartEvent in the default script, then it should trigger every time jaws runs. I just tested this us

I'm not sure jaws has that functionality. I wish it did. There's a built-in function called CopyToClipboard. This allows you to copy all sorts of info to the clipboard, not just selected text. I just don't think jaws stores last spoken
