What SS version are you using?
Some versions of the SB volume control, used 16 bit sub-integer
divisors and created rounding of 16 bit audio. This was audiable to me
and some others (but apparently not everyone!). The latest nightlies
don't do this, but only with gains of more than -30dB.
To me, deep soundstang not about the width but also the arrangement. For
example when you playing a CD on orchestra, you can identify the
position of the musical instruments with layers. That's the good
soundstage! I have this experience in my friend's home.
So is anyone can this similar
The Elpac WM075-1950 connector is the exact type and polarity required,
thus plug-n-play.

Your first assumption may be wrong; there is a potentially relevant
diference between the SB2 and SB3 hardware. To quote Bolder CAble Co: It
contains all the same circuitry of the SB2 with one small difference. The
internal power supply for the digital buffer chips is now powered by a

I stand corrected. So, where can you get the 075 since it appears to
have been discontinued? Does one have to settle for the 1.2A

Sorry, but you've got a twist or two to your thinking.
The basic idea is right. Once

I think that's pretty optimistic, unless living in the US means you
have to suffer some really bad 'audiophile' equipment,
I am doing my own recording into 24/96 flac format. Does anyone know if
the SB3 can handle that format, or do i need to dither down to 24/48 or
another format?

I just purchased a brand new SB3, and a colleague subjected the digital
outputs to a quick jitter measurement using Audio Precision equipment.
Results:
SB3 digital coax out jitter: ~99ps
SB3 digital optical out jitter: ~892ps
My colleague's own SB1 is supposed to have digital optical out jitter

Well, you've measured superior jitter levels.
No need to believe for the measured units.
I believe that most of the focus on jitter is hype to
I have Quad ESL 63s, and make my own ESLs and amplifiers, and I find
that the most important factor for sound stage is not the speakers
themselves, but their placement in the room, and the listener's
position relative to the speakers and walls, etc.
I also must confess the #1 soundstage
