Hi John, welcome to the forum! It sounds like you've done precisely right thing - the only isynchronous digital link in your system is that short I2S cable, and you're clocking from the DAC which should result in just about the lowest jitter system possible. Personally it's never been clear

Very cool! What are you doing for volume control? (To me, once of the nice things about SB is the convenience of a volume control from the one remote). Have you thought about taking off the PCM1748's mode control lines to drive an analog attenuator after your DAC? -- inguz
