Hi Sean
I have just recieved my Transporter :)
The manual says that version 6.5 or higher of Slimserver is required
yet only 6.3 is available for the Infrant NAS.
How do I get my transporter to work?

You can download a beta version of Radiator 3.01b1-p1 which includes
6.5. Go to the Infrant forum, look under Ready NAS Beta Releases and
you can get the update. I have been running it for a couple of weeks
and it is both stable and works. Obviously if you want to use the Web
interface you will

Sorry for jumping in here Patrick, but I have been thinking of
upgrading to one of your units for some time and would like to know if
you've heard a Transporter yet, and, if yes, how it compares with SB+
thanks

Thank you for the advice. I will take your suggestions and hopefully
they will help me get both programs working.

I found this link that describes the same problem I am having. The last
reply in the thread has a solution. Can anyone explain it to me? I am a
little thrown off by the solution to the problem.

There's an EAC forum here:
http://www.digital-inn.de/forum14/
I tried searching but the search function is all in German. However I
searched for 64-bit and it didn't appear to find anything.
Regarding SlimServer, if it can't connect, it's a network or firewall
issue. Check the firewall first
I stepped through the beginner's guide and the ports were added
already.
I started another thread under the beginners area and someone suggested
I download the 64-bit Perl download. I will try that as soon as I get
home tonight.

Good though the Transporter is (and I know I will be accused of bias
here anyway), the SB+ sounds better.
Both are of course, leagues ahead of the SB3.
Hello Patrick, thanks for your time,
I'm not sure if I am using the right term Sound Clipping but I am
having a problem with my SB3 in that music that is at low volumes does
not put out enough of a signal for my amp (AudioSource 100) to
recognize it. The amp has an audible click when the volume gets to low
and then again when the

Sounds like the amp has a source detect / auto off feature. Maybe you
can disable it?

I have tried that, but I still have the problem when I turn the volume
down too low on the pre-amp. Is the problem with my amp? That it
requires a higher signal to drive it?

You have more than enough signal with the SB3 at full volume. Check to
see that SlimServer - Player Settings - Audio - Preamp Volume Control
is at 0 (i.e. no attenuation).
Otherwise, check your preamp and amp. Sounds like either the preamp
isn't putting out enough signal or the amp cuts off
I want to thank everyone for the feedback. I think that the problem is
that the specific feed I am listening to (an internet radio station) is
not providing sufficient volume, so I have to have the Squeezebox at
100% volume to prevent the amp from shutting off. I did turn off the
auto-off
Bottom line: sounds like this amp isn't going to work very well for you
when doing quiet listening.
No preamp or any other solution that might come before the amp in the
signal chain is going to fix this problem. The problem is that you
want to listen to audio at a level that falls below the
I had an AudioSource amp for a long time, and had similar problems. I
never really could figure it out either.

I just guessed at it - there's no rating. But a 7-channel receiver in

Anyone care to share thoughts on changes with break in?

Yes, that all sounds reasonable. There are all kinds of ways of

have your interface!

Being an audiophile does not mean that one has to belong to the overly
credulous and seriously over-spending crowd. Being an audiophile does
not automatically mean that you judge a product by its price tag.
Picked up my Transporter yesterday!
No time to re-arrange my gear to make room for it until the weekend, so
it's sitting on a milk crate for now! Shades of college!

I guess I will end up using the Beta if it is more that a few days.
