However im still curious to know if it is possible to add a wordclock
or superclock input function to the squeezebox? I believe this will
save alot of people the need to buy the transporter for their digital
out only.

Alright I got my third (and best) measurement in today. I haven't
gotten a nice, long listening session in yet, but suffice it to say the
difference is palpable.
In a nutshell, I would say the imaging and sound-stage improved fairly
significantly, and a sometimes sibilant high-end has been tame

If so it's a bit unusual. All your equipment would be receiving IR at

I can't say I've had any issues with my Transporter IR. It's facing
me, off to the right about 20 degrees. Works fine, even with the

You appear to have a reflecting telescope in the opposite corner. Simply
align Transporter, telescope main mirror, and remote control accordingly

I assume the photo is being taken from roughly the seating position. I'd
put a mirror (or something else suitably reflective) on the table
directly in front, angled towards the Transporter (which I'd move back
to it's natural position).

Hi All,
Thanks for the info so far. All very enlightening. A number of thes

Hiya,
I too live in England and put a SB3 in my (large'ish) conservatory,
although I have carpet. I mounted a pair of Boise 2.2 speakers over the
door from the house(on speaker mounts) and tied them to a very, very
inexpensive Sonic Impact Portable T-amp (Ebay). Wires routed up and
over the door.
How about sitting up with your ears at a proper level for listening?

My general advice would be: do as much as you reasonably can for room
treatments, and add room correction too.
Room treatments don't only work at the "sweet spot", they can really
help broaden it. Typical places to try address would be: side-wall

I assume you mean their 6020A model. The two models are (based on
information from their sales rep here in Sweden) the same in every
aspect except that 8020 has balanced inputs only. I assume you want RCA
inputs to connect it to the SB. RCA
Sorry that the IR sensor isn't in the right place for you. We did try
to place it with the widest visibility, but with all that display glass
there wasn't much flexibility.
The IR input jack is designed to connect directly to the IR output of a
repeater in place of one of the stick-on IR LEDs.
How about one with an invisible knob? ;-)

I've found that mine is not as responsive as my other squeezeboxes to IR
